Plan for Victoria

The design and delivery of interactive activations and installations to inspire public participation and engage Victorians to share their ideas about the future of Victoria.

The Department of Transport and Planning (DTP) is actively engaging with communities across Victoria, from Melbourne to Shepparton and Mildura, to gather input on what matters most to Victorians. This feedback has shaped the 'Eight Big Ideas for Victoria's Future' which are currently being presented for a second round of public consultation.
With the team at Cofutures, we developed a variety of interactive activations and installations to encourage public participation and help DTP gather feedback on the Eight Big Ideas. These activations were tailored for various events and locations during the Open House Melbourne weekend.

Key Feature: The Big Ideas Voting Wall
A feature activation that was used across all locations was the interactive Big Ideas Voting Wall, which showcased the Eight Big Ideas. Visitors could drop a ping pong ball to vote for the idea they found most important. This playful and visual activation was designed to capture the attention of passers-by, encouraging them to stop and discuss their ideas about the future of Victoria.

Other Activations and Installations: A LEGO Exhibition, a Love Letter Wall and a Creative Makers Hub
Other activations featured during the Open House weekend included a LEGO exhibition showcasing the Big Ideas through different LEGO constructions, a large map of Victoria inviting visitors to write love letters about what they cherish in the area, and a Makers hub where attendees could decorate and paint Victoria themed tote bags with stickers representing the Eight Big Ideas.
Each of these activations contributed to a multifaceted and interactive event, encouraging visitors to stop and engage with the different installations and share their ideas and feedback for the future of Victoria.
